Poor Myra Update

Yesterday we noticed that Myra was not walking on her back left foot. Holy crap! We were told by the vet that should this ever happen it was an emergency and needed to be seen right away. Of course it was Sunday so we went to the emergency vet, which turned out to be the right thing. By the time we saw the vet, which was no more than 10 minutes, she was not able to walk on either foot. They checked her out and we were told that she had a spinal cord injury. One of the discs in her back had bulged and was pinching the nerve to her back feet. We left her over night so they could watch her and so she could see the surgeon first thing this morning. We were told at this point my poor little dog would have to have surgery if it is not to late. If it is too late we have 2 choices: 1) put the little dog down and 2) put her in a dog cart. We are waiting to hear from the surgeon and thanking President Bush for send out the tax checks early. More to follow when we hear from the surgeon.
